Summer is HERE

That means.......

Flip Flops. Cute Toes. Hair in a Scrunchie. Popsicles. Trips to the beach. Outings at the park. Nights on the porch. Bar-B-Q's. Playing in the hose. Sidewalk chalk. Laying by the pool. Cannon balls. Ice cold beers. Margaritas. Watermelon. Ice Cream. Blue Skies. Summer storms. Great Shades. Lemonaide. T-Shirts. Going to the lake. Lots of Birthdays. Tons of Summer Fun!

I miss Miami some summers. Miami was like summer all year long. I thought that those teenage years there were my best years, but then I stop and think, wow, these years are pretty banging too. Life is pretty good most of the time.

I have favorite songs that are classics and will always be my favorites, but then there are those that come in passing. Right now that song for me is All Summer Long by Kid Rock. I love that it is summer and this song puts me right in the summer time mood instantly. It takes me back to so many memories growing up on the beach. I also just love driving to this song blaring on the radio. Those were the days, but I can't wait to enjoy this summer with my family and many more summers ahead.

"All Summer Long"

It was 1989, my thoughts were short my hair was long

Caught somewhere between a boy and man

She was seventeen and she was far from in-between

It was summertime in Northern Michigan

Ahh Ahh AhhAhh Ahh Ahh

Splashing through the sand bar

Talking by the campfire

It's the simple things in life, like when and where

We didn't have no internet

But man I never will forget

The way the moonlight shined upon her hair

[Chorus:]

And we were trying different things

We were smoking funny things

Making love out by the lake to our favorite song

Sipping whiskey out the bottle, not thinking 'bout tomorrow

Singing Sweet home Alabama all summer long

Singing Sweet home Alabama all summer long

Catching Walleye from the dock

Watching the waves roll off the rocks

She'll forever hold a spot inside my soul

We'd blister in the sun

We couldn't wait for night to come

To hit that sand and play some rock and roll

[Chorus:]

Now nothing seems as strange as when the leaves began to change

Or how we thought those days would never end

Sometimes I'll hear that song and I'll start to sing along

And think man I'd love to see that girl again

[Repeat Chorus x2]

Singing Sweet Home Alabama all summer long

Singing Sweet Home Alabama all summer long

Singing Sweet Home Alabama all summer long

Singing Sweet Home Alabama all summer long

I Heart Burt

This morning was nothing out of the ordinary, as usual it was rough to leave the kids as I headed for work. They smell sooooo good! I love baby smell. Tyler and Genesis are toddlers not babies, but they still smell fabulous. I have been using Burt's Bee's baby products on them since Tyler was born in 2003 and I wonder if I will ever stop.

I just love their natural baby products! They use the body lotion, milk bath, diaper ointment, the body wash and shampoo, cologne balm, and the apricot baby oil (That is probably my favorite thing, so light and smells so good. This one they use from day one, (Gen still gets some on her knees too!) The stuff is so fresh and delicate and the fragrance lasts well after their bath.

Their hair and skin smell so good and clean it is even harder to part with my sleeping beauties! Even my big boy Tyler smells delicious! Lets see how long I can get them to use the stuff. What the heck though, I love the milk wash for myself and I don't think you have to be pregnant to continue to use the mommy belly butter they have do you? Honestly, I can technically still put that stuff anywhere! I even borrow the kids body lotion as well!
Enough with the promo, (though I do sware by this stuff if you are interested in giving it a try!) I just miss my kids!!

Meant to Post....

I had meant to post some pictures of the Mothers day gift Tyler made for me in Pre-School......I finally downloaded them and here they are.

It's the simple things for me, and this is one of those things. I have been a Mommy for almost 5 years, but this is the first year that I really get something that was made especially for me. It was so special to see what they helped him make and he was so excited to give it to me.

I love the innocence of it all and to see how priceless these moments are first hand and really experience them is truly something else. I totally cried when I received my little treasure.
So here are the pics, hope they touch your heart at least a little bit as they did me. I am not sure what I am going to do with all the things they make me, one thing is for sure, I just cannot part with them. Poor John will never have his garage storage bin free. I certainly hope it is OK with him!
